Wild Birds!

The chickens had to stay in their coop all day yesterday because we had a constant rain. They were anxious to get out this morning and forage for our toast left-overs. I was in the middle of washing our breakfast dishes when I heard Rose, our brown chicken, in distress. In a flash, I was on the back deck trying to figure out where they were when a hawk flew from the ground about five feet in front of me. Rose was so upset, she couldn't move. Her feathers were ruffled in the back where the hawk tried to grab her. I started my chicken count and found Violet in the northwest corner and Clover in the southeast corner of the yard. I ushered them back into their coop where they huddled together in the corner for over an hour.

I know you can put up plastic owls to keep pigeons away, but what do you do to keep hawks away?
